Citation measures and tools

The citation measures and tools offered by many library database providers can measure the impact of research using citation mapping, citation reports, citation tracker, h-graph and h-index.  






Databases with tools to analyse impact

Databases that measure and analyse citation impact include:


  • Scopus  
      
    Use (Citations) or (View Citation Overview) in the search results. Create an h-Graph.
  • Web of Science  
      
    Use the Cited Reference Search, Citation Maps, & Citation Reports.


International research rankings

  • Essential Science Indicators
    ESI
    is a database of performance statistics and trends in science. It
    provides citation rankings for scientists, institutions, countries,
    journals and papers. Search, sort, rank, by Field or Name. Available (by
    subscription) on the Web of Knowledge (Additional Resources tab).
  • Scimago Lab
    Institutions rankings (e.g.SJR World Report) and Journal & country rankings, using citation data from Scopus. Free.
  • Science Watch
    Weekly
    trends. Data and Rankings section features New Hot Papers, Emerging
    Research Fronts, Rising Stars etc. Free site, using Web of Science
    citation data.
    Also available on Web of Knowledge (Additional Resources tab).
  • InCites
    Registration required.
