Librarians helping researchers avoid predatory journals and publishers

Preparing to publish a research output can be daunting, especially if it is for the first time. It is not always easy to identify a trusted publisher!

Think. Check. Submit provides researchers with the tools they need to decide which publishing venue is the most appropriate for their work. Think.Check.Submit. encourages researchers to look out for the characteristics displayed by predatory publishers and use the checklist of questions to evaluate publishers when considering where to submit their research.

Our checklist for journals is available in over forty languages, and our checklist for books and chapters is available in thirteen languages. If you have not visited our website for a while, please take a moment to look. Our new website makes it easier for researchers and librarians to use our tools. The checklists are now interactive and downloadable.

Librarians help us to get the word out

Librarians help get the word out to researchers about these tools. Did you know that one of the key drivers of traffic to Think. Check. Submit. are links from library websites?

Your library could help by including a link and short explanation on the website, for example:

Think. Check. Submit. is a campaign to help researchers identify trusted journals and publishers for their research. It provides simple checklists researchers can use to assess the credentials of a journal or publisher.

You can also embed a link to our video.  Copy and paste the code below into your page or HTML document.

If your library already links to Think. Check. Submit. please  get in touch and show us.  We hope to start an exemplar list of places that lint to Think. Check. Submit.
